In Manipur, 16 militants from seven different proscribed outfits surrendered before state Director General of Police Y. Joykumar Singh and Inspector General of Assam Rifles (South) Major General CA Krishnan at Imphal on Tuesday. The surrendered militants also handed over three AK-47 Rifles, two AK-57 Rifles, one US made Carbine, two M-16 Rifles, one lathod gun with two lathod bombs, three 9mm pistols, one 3.5mm pistol, one revolver and a large number of ammunitions. The militants surrendered today are two each from People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK), People’s United Liberation Front (PULF) and United Tribal Liberation Army (UTLA), five from Pakan Unification Army (PUA), three from United National Liberation Front (UNLF) and one each from Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) and Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL).
