In Assam, 16 local trains, including the ‘Manas Rhino’ passenger, have been cancelled today due to security reasons. A senior North-East Frontier Railway official said the step has been taken apprehending sabotage during a Railway and Highway blockade call given by a pro-talk faction of an underground outfit in Bodoland Territorial Council area.Meanwhile, train services to and from Guwahati were restored yesterday afternoon after repairing the damaged tracks at Sessapani in Kokrajhar district. Movement of all trains to and from Guwahati was suspended following derailment of 11 bogies of a goods train at Sessapani yesterday. According to Railway authorities, the derailment took place due to sabotage by suspected National Democratic Front of Bodoland, NDFB militants.
