In Pakistan, at least 16 people were killed and four others injured critically in an attack on two passenger vehicles by militants early this morning. The incident happened in Lower Kurram tribal area of northwest. Reports said a caravan of passenger vehicles was heading to Peshawar from Para Chanar when unidentified gunmen fired with automated weapons. Five people were killed on the spot. Eleven others succumbed to their injuries on way to hospital. The victims are believed to be from Para Chanar area .
