16 killed in Odisha, TN in separate road accidents

16 people were killed in two separate road accidents in Odisha and Tamil Nadu on Thursday morning. In Odisha, ten people including two women were killed and fifteen others injured in a road accident at Babubandha near Gosala in Sambalpur district. The accident occurred when a private bus, carrying passengers, proceeding to Rourkela from Baragarh collided with a truck on the national highway number six. Six persons died on the spot, while four succumbed to their injuries in the government hospital. The injured have been admitted to VSS Medical college hospital in Burla. Police rushed to the spot soon after the incident and rescued the injured with the help of local people. Police is trying to ascertain the identities of the victims.In Tamil Nadu, six persons including three women died in an accident when a government bus collided with a stationary lorry near Kumarapalayam, Namakkal early today. The bus was coming from Salem towards Coimbatore. The bodies have been kept in Kumarapalayam Government Hospital. The injured have been admitted to hospitals in Erode and Coimbatore.
