Sixteen Indian fishermen were arrested by Sri Lankan Navy in two separate incidents today for allegedly fishing in their territorial waters. Rameswaram Fishermen Association President, S Emerit, said that 8 fishermen from Nagapattinam district were fishing off Neduntheevu this evening when the Lankan naval personnel rounded them up and took them to Kangesanthurai port in Sri Lanka along with their boat. <br/><br/>In the second incident, eight fishermen from Rameswaram were arrested by the Lankan navy while they were fishing off Talaimannar in the island nation in their boat and later taken to that town. Ten fishermen, belonging to nearby Thangachimadam were yesterday arrested by the island nation's authorities when they were fishing near Katchatheevu and later taken to Kangesanthurai port.
