15th National Youth Festival begins today in Bhubaneswar

In Orissa, stage is set for grand beginning of the15th National Youth Festival at Kalinga Stadium of Bhubaneswar from Friday. About 5000 delegates across the country are participating in this five-day extravaganza to showcase India's rich and multi-faceted culture.<br/><br/>Union Minister for Youth Affairs Dr MS Gill is schedule to inaugurate the festival in presence of Orissa Chief Minister Mr Naveen Patnaik and Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Mr Pratik Prakashbapu Patil.<br/><br/>The inaugural function will bring a collage of cultural traditions, daredevil feats by members of the armed forces, state-of-the-art laser shows and international standard fireworks. Folk dances of Orissa will also be the main attraction of the function while teams from other states will come with their traditional attire in a colourful way.<br/><br/>The festival will also witness performances by eminent singers Hans Raj Hans, Babul Supriyo and Usha Uthup to add glitz and glamour to the celebrations. Actor Suniel Shetty and Olympic medal winning wrestler Vijender Singh are also participating as youth ambassadors.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, elaborate security arrangements have been made for the festival with deployment of 54 platoons of police personnel at various places of Bhubaneswar.
