15th Kerala Int. Film festival begins Friday

The fifteenth International film festival of Kerala will begin tomorrow at Thiruvananthapuram. About 207 movies from eighty three countries will be showcased in the week long festival to be attended by 9000 delegates from across the country and abroad. AIR correspondent R.K. Pillai reports from Thiruvananthapuram that rated as the second best festival in India, the fifteenth film festival of Kerala will be starting tomorrow. Celebrated German director Werner Herzog will be honoured in the festival for his lifetime achievement to world cinema. Fourteen movies from countries of Asia, Africa and Latin America will compete for the Golden peacock award and fifteen lakh rupee prize money. Sixtyone acclaimed movies in the cinema of the world section is the highlight of the festival.
