In Kerala, the fifteenth international film festival, IFFK will be inaugurated by Chief Minister V. S Achuthanandan this evening. With participation of about 9000 delegates IFFK is one of the biggest film festivals in the country. AIR correspondent R.K. Pillai reports, the completion section is restricted to films from Asia, Africa and Latin America. The capital of God's own country will be the mecca of film lovers for a week from today. Jaya Bachan and Wahida Rahman will join other eminent film personalities to grace the glittering opening function. 207 movies from eighty three countries are to be showcased in the festival. Legendary German director Werner Herzog who is on his first visit to India will be honoured with lifetime achievement award and cash prize of five lakh rupees. Apart from Suvarna Chakoram for the best film, in different categories, thirty lakh rupees will be given away as prize money.
