The 15th All India Whips Conference begins in Chandigarh on Wednesday. It will be inaugurated by Governor of Punjab Mr. Shivraj Patil and presided over by the Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Pawan Kumar Bansal.<br/><br/>Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and Speaker Punjab Assembly Nirmal Singh Kahlon will address the gathering in the inaugural session.<br/><br/>About 125 delegates from the centre and the state Parliamentary Affairs Ministries, Chief whips and Whips of political parties in the two Houses of Parliament and in the Legislative<br/><br/>Assemblies and Councils of the States, Union Territories and other leaders will participate in the two day conference.<br/><br/>The All India Whips Conference is periodically held to discuss matters of mutual interest on the subjects concerning the functioning of Parliament and State Legislatures and make unanimous recommendations for consideration of Central and state governments as well as Parliament and State Legislatures. Mr K.Rahman Khan, Deputy Chairman Rajya Sabha will deliver the valedictory address.<br/><br/>All India Radio will broadcast live inaugural function from 8.55 a.m. on Wednesday from its Chandigarh station with RN support which will be relayed by all multi-channel stations. A consolidated Radio report will also be broadcast from Chandigarh at 10 p.m. on Wednesday on the Conference.
