In Chhattisgarh, people of about eight villages in the Raygarh district are still surrounded by flood water. The district administration has air-dropped food packets for the marooned villagers. More than 15000 people have been kept in relief camps in this district alone. The Culture and Tourism Minister of the state, Mr. Brij Mohan Agrawal supervising relief operations in the Raygarh district, told AIR News that the Army rescue team is being pressed into service to rescue the stranded villagers.
