No sports person has been recommended for the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award this year. The committee has, however, recommended 15 names for Arjuna awards. These include cricketer R. Ashwin, shooter Heena Sidhu, boxer Jai Bhagwan and athlete Tintu Luka. The selection committee under the Chairmanship of Kapil Dev met in New Delhi yesterday. for recommending the names of sports persons for the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna and Arjuna awards
