15 new polytechnics will be opened in West Bengal in the next educational year. The state Minister for technical education Mr. Ravi Ranjan Chattyapadhya said this in the state assembly in reply to a question by MLA Eid Mohammad on Monday. Mr. Chattyapadhya said out of 15 new colleges, 11 will be opened with central grant.Two more will be opened with grants from the Madrasa Education Department, Minority Development board and Financial nigam. The rest two will be opened in the Private Public partnership (PPP) mode. The Minister said that work for identifying districts where there is no technical institute in going on. He said the state Government will lay emphasis on increase of employment opportunities through technical education.
