In Andhra Pradesh, 15 MLAs belonging to Telangana region across party lines have tendered resignations to the Assembly speaker today protesting against the terms of reference of the SriKrishna Committee. The MLAs who tendered their resignations have included all the 10 TRS members along with its floor leader E.Rajender. <br/><br/>Among others, two from ruling Congress party including a former Minister, Damodar Reddy and one each from opposition Telugu Desam, Praja Rajyam and BJP. Congress leader Damodar Reddy later told media that they have submitted resignations without any conditions and in its prescribed format. TRS leader Rajender has called upon other MLAs from Telangana regions also to quit. However, Speaker N.Kiran Kumar Reddy is yet to approve the resignations.<br/><br/>Earlier in the day, speaking at a Meet the Press programme arranged by the Hyderabad Press Club, the Speaker has said the decision over the resignations whether to accept or not was the discretion of the speaker. As long as the rules, procedures and Conventions of the house were considered no one can question Speaker’s decision, he added.
