In Bihar, at least 15 people are feared drowned when an overcrowded country boat capsized mid stream of the turbulent Deginala, a tributary of the Punpun River in Aurangabad district. The tragedy occurred at Alpa village under Hasanpur police station area. District magistrate Abhay Kumar Singh told AIR that the ill fated boat was carrying 25 persons of which ten swam to safety. The boat overturned due to strong winds while ferrying passengers from one side to another. AIR correspondent reports that a search operation is on to locate missing persons.
