In China, 15 people are killed in a coal mine blast in the northern province of Shanxi. The Official Xinhua news agency citing an official at the local coal mine safety bureau said the explosion happened early on Saturday at the Liugou coal mine near Linfen city. The blast occurred inside a room used to store gunpowder. Rescue operations are on to reach any survivors trapped inside the mine.
