Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe will inaugurate the 14th South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation in Law (SAARCLAW) Conference beginning in Colombo this evening. <br/><br/>The three-day conference will see participation from South Asia's top Judges, legal practitioners and academics. <br/><br/>Attorney General K K Venugopal and Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi are among the participants from the Indian side. <br/><br/>The conference provides a platform for legal professionals to meet and discuss issues of mutual interests and emerging legal trends in the South Asian countries. <br/><br/>The panel discussions will be held on the topics 'The Role of National and International Counter-Tracking Laws in Combatting Issues of Tracking and Forced Labour ', 'Artificial Intelligence and Human Aptitude working in Tandem', 'A Common Regional Platform for Combating Climate Change', 'The Confluence of Law and Technology', 'The Role of Law and Judicial Activism', and 'Promoting FDI and Cross-Border Transactions in the SAARC Region'.<br/><br/>The 11th Chief Justices conference will also be held on the sidelines tomorrow with a closed-door session attended only by the Chief Justices or their representatives.
