India today began the third day of the 12th South Asian Games in Guwahati in style. It bagged 2 Gold and a Silver medal to take the medals tally to 16 Gold and 6 Silver. The first Gold of the day came in Cycling when Lidiya Sunny finished first in the Women's 40 km Criterium event. India's Manorama Devi took the Silver. The second Gold of the Day was won in Weightlifting through Saraswati Rout in the 58 kg weight category. Among other events, India is today figuring in Wrestling and Swimming. Wrestling events are scheduled later in the day, while many Indian swimmers, including Sandeep Sejwal, Veerdhawal Khade and Sayani Ghosh, have progressed to the finals of their respective events. Besides, both the Indian Men's and Women's Hockey teams will begin their campaigns today. The Men's team will take on Bangladesh, while the Women's team will meet Nepal. In Volleyball, the Indian Women's team will be up against Pakistan, while the Men's team will slug it out against Sri Lanka. The Indian Men's and Women's Kho-Kho teams will also be playing against Pakistan.
