In Uttar Pradesh, the Food and Drug Authority has arrested 144 persons for their alleged involvement in adulteration activities besides seized more than two lakh liters of spurious vegetable oil during a special drive across the state. Commissioner of the Authority Mr. Desh Deepak Verma said that Authority has conducted 1677 inspections and 760 raids across the state during last month. He said that the seized quantity amounted to around 1 crore 54 lakh. He said that the authority has also initiated a control room and email service where denizens can pass on the information regarding adulterated products while their identity will not be revealed.
