14 killed in Nepal plane crash

In Nepal, all 14 people on board a private airline were feared killed as the plane crashed in Makwanpur district this morning.The 19-seater Dornier 9N-AHE aircraft of Private Agni airline, carrying 11 passengers and three crew members crashed near Shikharpur village in Makawarnur district. The three-member crew included two pilots and an air hostess. Official sources said the private plane that left Kathmandu this morning crashed near Shikhapur village while returning from Lukla, where it could not land due to bad weather. Lukla is a popular trekking spot in the Everest region of eastern Nepal. Our correspondent reports a team of army and police personnel have reached the crash site for rescue works.
