14 killed in Nepal plane crash

In Nepal, 14 persons including six foreigners were feared killed when a small plane crashed at Shikhapur village in Makwanpur district this morning. Officials are however yet to confirm the number of casualties in the air crash. According to Nepal Television, the accident occurred when Agni Air, private airline aircraft was returning to Kathmandu after failing to land in Lukla in eastern Nepal because of bad weather. Lukla is the gateway to Mount Everest. The nationality of the foreigners was not immediately known. The Army and police personnel have rushed to the accident site for rescue and relief works. AIR Correspondent reports that two years ago, 18 people including 12 Germans, were killed when a small plane crashed in Lukla.
