The 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games, has come to a memorable end with spectacular Closing Ceremony last night at the Hampden Park. India did fairly well in the games but let's look at the India's overall outing at the Glasgow Games.India has finished a content yet another progressive Journey of Commonwealth Games. The success enjoyed by India, when it Hosted the Games in Delhi 2010 was not equalled but a lot of positives were taken out from Glasgow's game. Barry Buddon Shooting Range was buzzed with Indian marksmen finishes on Podium. We also saw Abhinav Bindra bidding Golden Farewlll to commonwealth Games. Indian shooters were inducted four times in Games record book. Apporvi Chandela created the 10m Air Rifle Women's event Games and Final record and won the Gold in process.So did Abhinav Bindra and Jitu rai in their respective shooting events.Wrestling was the other highlight of the Games where India and Canada were nemisis. India bagged 5 Golds in Grappling events. Sushil Kumar and Yogeshwar Dutt both olympians brought home Gold. Weighlifting also brought laurels to the Country. The first Gold of the games was baaged by Sanjita Khumukchan in Women's 48 kg weightlifting. 3 Golds 4 Silver and 5 Bronze came to Indian lifter's tally. We also bagged a silver and bronze in Powerlifting events. Dramatic finish is what keeps the Inidian nerves up.On Final day it was Bdminton that raced the Indian heart beats as we clinched the Gold. This was the sound that was heard after 1982 when Syed Modi won Badminton Men's Singles Championship in Commonwealth Games. Parupalli Kashyap has now joined the line of Indian badminton Greats like Prakash Padukone, Pullela Gopi Chand and Syed Modi. The Gold Medal on the last day of the Games brought immense joy to the Indian fans. The other highlights of this Glasgow Games were a medal in Rhythmic Gymanstics, Squash's first ever medal and that too in form of Gold, and Men's Hockey team grabbing the silver. Indians are returning from the Commonwealth Games and they are being welcomed by a mass at home but it's only hope in the eyes of Indian Contingent that's burning to perform better in 2018 Australia's Gold Coast.
