In Afghanistan, 14 armed insurgents were killed and four others injured in 12 different operations in past 24 hours. The operations were launched by Afghan National Police with the assistance of the Afghan National Army and NATO Coalition Forces. A release issued by the Afghan Interior Ministry in Kabul on Wednesday says, 43 armed insurgents were also arrested in the operations. Two insurgents were killed while planting anti-vehicle mines in Dilaram district of Farah province Tuesday. Meanwhile, Afghan National Police has discovered and seized 36 kilograms of opium and some arms and ammunition from different places in the past 24 hours.
