In Jammu and Kashmir, the 13th Phase of Panchayat Elections held in Nine blocks of the State concluded peacefully on Thursday. Large number of people exercised their franchise to elect 240 Sarpanches and 1709 Panches.The highest poll percentage of 85.13 percent was recorded in Dansal block of district Jammu followed by Gundana block of district Doda where poll percentage recorded was 82.47 percent.Baghwah block recorded 81.84 % polling. Mendhar block in border Poonch district recorded 80.50%.In Kashmir Valley Sopore block of District Baramulla recorded 54.17% polling while Tral block in Pulwama district recorded 50.87%. Polling was reported to be peaceful in three blocks of Leh district.
