The 13th Foundation Day of the Prasar Bharati is being celebrated today. It was on this day in 1997, the public service broadcaster was given autonomy by an Act of Parliament. Several functions are being organised in different parts of the country to mark the occasion. The Broadcasting Corporation with its two wings of All India Radio and Doordarshan has established many new milestones. The corporation is regularly organising workshops and conferences on regional and international level to keep professionals working in the organisation abreast of the latest technical and programming skills.
