<span style="color: #222222;">Power, New and Renewable Energy Minister R K Singh has said that a total of 1359.97 Billion Units BU of electricity have been generated from all sources in the country during the year 2022-23 up to Jan 2023. In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday, Mr Singh said, out of this, a total of 316.75 BU have been generated from renewable energy which has a share of 23.29 per cent in the total electricity generation in the country. He said, wind power projects in the country are set up mostly by private sector developers based on techno economic viability of the project at wind potential sites.<br />''<br />''The Minister said, one thousand 50 crore rupees was allocated for the year 2022-23 for catering to committed liabilities under wind generation-based Incentive schemes for the wind projects commissioned on or before 31st March, 2017. He said, 22 crore rupees was allocated in the Budget for the year 2022-23 for supporting research and development activities at National Institute of Wind Energy NIWE.</span><br />''<br />''<br />
