In Afghanistan, 13 Taliban militants have been killed in an operation by security forces in Kunar Province. A dozen were also wounded. According to reports, the operation was launched in various parts of Dangam District.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, the United Nations is investigating an incident in which over 30 civilians, mostly women and children, were killed in US air strikes at Buz Kandahari area in Afghanistan. In a statement, the UN Secretary-General's Special Representative for Afghanistan, Tadamichi Yamamoto, said the loss of civilian life is unacceptable and undermines efforts toward building peace and stability in the country. UN figures show 95 people have been killed and over 100 injured in the past week alone.
