In Karnataka, thirteen nominations were filed today for the legislative Council election. The Members of legislative Assembly will elect 11 members to the Upper House on June 11. Six nominations were filed from BJP, four from Congress and one from JD(S). Two Independents too filed the nominations today. The election is being held following the retirement of 11 MLCs on June 17. The nomination papers will be scrutinised on June 2 and the last date for withdrawal of thecandidatures is June 4th.
