In China, 13 miners have been killed and six missing in a gas explosion at a coal mine in southwest Guizhou Province. Local authorities said the blast hit the Xincheng coal mine in Liupanshui City, early today when 34 mine workers were working underground.Fifteen miners managed to escape. Rescuers have recovered all the bodies and are searching for the six remaining missing. An investigation into the cause of the explosion is underway.
