In Manipur, 13 underground activists of different proscribed outfits have laid down weapon before the state Director General of Police Yumnam Joykumar Singh and Inspector General of Assam Rifles (South) Major General C A Krishnan in Imphal today. The surrendered militants are seven from PREPAK, three from KCP and one each from UNLF, KYKL and UNPC.Warmly welcoming the militants on their coming back to the national mainstream, the state police chief said, the Sajik Tampak valley which is surrounded by hills in the Chandel District of the state is now under the control of the state force. He further said, it was a big question in the past whether police will be able to visit the place or not.
