13 killed in flash floods in Indonesia

In Indonesia, thirteen people have been killed and dozens missing after flash floods smashed through a district in Papua province. A spokesman of the national disaster management centre said, the early-morning floods were unleashed after continuous torrential downpours that began last night in Teluk Wondama district of West Papua province. According to the data from local officials, 13 bodies have been found and dozens of people went missing. Rescuers were struggling to get to the areas as many fallen trees have blocked the roads. A local official said hundreds of people had been displaced and sought refuge in hilly areas.
