In Jammu and Kashmir, flash floods and landslides triggered by heavy rain has claimed 13 lives. Eight persons, including a BSF officer were killed in incidents of landslides and flash floods in Jammu region alone.

Five persons died in a house collapse in Reasi district. Heavy rain lashed Srinagar for the third consecutive day today triggering threat of flood across the valley. River Jhelum is flowing above the danger mark.

Leh-Srinagar National highway remained close for the traffic following a landslide at Zojila pass near Drass. Hundreds of trucks carrying essential commodities and taxis are stranded on the highway.
