In Andhra Pradesh, all the 13 ministers belonging to Telangana region have decided to resign from the Government on Telangana issue. They have faxed a common letter to the AICC President Sonia Gandhi stating that they have decided to resign as the Centre’s recent statement had caused concern to all of them. The ministers met Chief Minister K Rosaiah at the secretariat today and informed him about their decision. Later Major Irrigation Minister P Lakshmaiah and others said they have appealed to the centre to announce a clear time frame for carving out Telangana state. Chief Whip of the Government B. Vikramarka also resigned to his post. Over 70 MLAs cutting across party lines belonging to Telangana region have already tendered their resignation to Assembly Speaker over statehood issue. Meanwhile, TDP President Chandrababu Naidu alleged that the attack on their party leader Janardhan Reddy was a handicraft of Telangana Rastra Samithi. He also said the TRS was sponsoring the attacks on both Public and private properties. In view of the attack, the main opposition TDP has also announced that it will fight independently for separate Telangana state and came out of the Joint Action Committee. On the other hand, the Telangana Joint Action Committee has decided not to call for Bandh tomorrow but carry out protest demonstrations at village level. Additional security forces have been deployed at the Osmania University campus in Hyderabad as the situation is still volatile after out break of violence yesterday. Heavy deployment of security forces including Rapid Action Force and CRPF was made at all important places such as Secretariat, state Assembly and Rajbbhavan in Hyderabad and in Telangana districts. Meanwhile, Law Minister M Veerappa Moily, in-charge of Congress affairs in Andhra Pradesh, said in New Delhi that the union government has not diluted its stand on Telangana but other political parties in Andhra Pradesh have made a U-turn on the statehood after promising to support a resolution in the state Assembly, favouring bifurcation of the state.
