The 12th South Asian Games will be held in Guwahati and Shillong from January 10 to 22 next year. Meghalaya sports secretary F R Kharkongor said, the state will host seven disciplines, including archery, boxing, wushu, taekwondo, table tennis and badminton while Assam would host 13 other disciplines.The SAG would see participation of around 2,500 athletes from the eight member-countries — Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, the Maldives, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The last edition of the SAG was held in Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2010.
