The Planning Commission on Thursday said that the full draft of the 12th five year plan will be ready by the end of this fiscal and will be operational from the new financial year. The Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission, Montek Singh Ahluwalia said this while speaking at a Conference on Infrastructure in New Delhi. He said that the approach paper of the 12th Plan that is from 2012 to 2017 is available on the website.
He said that plan panel has accorded high priority in strengthening the infrastructure like power, transport, Airports, Roads and others. He said that private investment contributes 30 per cent of the total investment in the infrastructure during the current plan and it will go up in the next plan.
Mr. Ahuluwalia said, that plan panel is also concerned about the thermal power generation due to the inadequate supply of coal and it is working on it to find ways to deal with the issue in the next plan. He said that a Group of Ministers headed by the Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, is working on it to ensure coal linkages to thermal projects in the country.
