Twelve thousand Muslims have attended a conference in London to promote a better image of Islam. The event was one of the largest Islamic events of its kind. The conference was led by the Islamic scholar Dr. Mohammed Tahir-ul-Qadri, founder of the International Muslim Organisation Minhaj-ul-Quran. Speaking to the congregation he said the voices of peace loving Muslims had been drowned out by the clamour noise of extremists who had brought confusion to the meaning of Islam. He said it was time to put things right. A number of faith leaders from all major religions offered their support to the conference including the Arch Bishop of Canterbury.
