A total of 1234 Visa on Arrival, VoAs, were issued to foreign tourists last month. According to an official release, this is an increase of 243 over the 991 Visa on Arrival issued in the month of September 2011.

The maximum number of VoAs issued under this scheme during October, 2011 was 274 for New Zealand, followed by Japan and Indonesia. During the period January-October 2011, a total number of 9739 VoAs were issued. The maximum number of 1950 VoAs issued under this scheme during January-October 2011, were for New Zealand, followed by Japan and Indonesia.
