12 more swine flu deaths in Gujarat

Twelve more swine flu deaths have been reported in Gujarat, taking the H1N1 death toll in the state to 112. Health officials said that two deaths, including that of 10-month old toddler Meena Gohil and Rekha Nilesh, 32, were reported from the PDU Civil hospital in Rajkot yesterday. Eight deaths prior to December 24 were also reported from Rajkot civil hospita. Meanwhile, 20 fresh cases of swine flu have been recorded from different parts of the state.The new cases have been recorded in Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Bhuj, Mehsana, Jamnagar, Palanpur, Himmatnagar and Bhavnagar districts, they said adding that a total of 667 people have been infected with the H1N1 virus in the state so far. Of the 112 swine flu deaths reported in the state, 104 patients were from Gujarat, while the remaining eight belonged to Rajasthan and were brought here under critical condition for treatment.<br/>
