In Pakistan, at least 12 militants were killed today during military operations in the northwest Region. A local TV channel said gunship helicopters and warplanes bombed the hideouts of the militants in Ferozkhel Mela region of Orakzai tribal agency killing eight militants. 10 others were injured. In the airstrikes, four hideouts and three vehicles were also destroyed. In another incident, at least four militants were killed in clashes with security forces in Swat valley when they opened fire during a search operation.
