In Afghanistan, at least 12 people including a police official were killed today when a suicide bomber riding a motorcycle detonated his explosives in southwestern town of Farah. The provincial police chief said at least 35 more people have been injured, some of them seriously. In another incident, three civilians were killed and threeothers were injured as their car hit a roadside bomb in eastern Khost city today. The incidents comes only a day after ten civilians and two US soldiers were killed in two separate suicide bombings in southern provinces yesterday. Violence is on the rise as Afghan President Mr. Hamid Karzai, sworn in for his second term yesterday, said Afghan forces will take over the country’s security in next five years. Mr. Karzaihas also promised for a Loya Jirga to bring back the disaffected groups, who have resorted to violence, in the national mainstream.
