In Uttar Pradesh at least 12 persons were killed and more than 35 injured in an accident Sunday afternoon in Gonda district. <br/>Quoting official sources our Lucknow correspondent reports that the accident occured when a sand loaded truck dashed against Ayodhya bound passenger train on Gorakhpur Ayodhya route near Mankapur railway station at a no man railway crossing. 11 persons died on the spot including the truck driver while one train passenger succumbed to his injuries in hospital. Nearly 35 injured, some of them seriously, have been admitted to various hospitals. Senior railway and administrative officers have reached the spot to monitor rescue operation. The DRM Lucknow said, the driver and the cleaner of the truck and the passengers hanging outside the coaches near the engine were among those killed .<br/><br/>
