12 Jharkhand districts declared drought hit

Jharkhand 12 districts, including Ranchi, are declared drought hit. The decision was taken yesterday evening by the Advisory Council of the Governor on the basis that these districts have received less than 50% rainfall. The districts which are declared drought hit are- Ranchi, Giridih, Bokaro, Dhanbad, Palamu, Jamtara, Jamshedpur, Khunti, Saraikela-Kharwana, Chatra, Ramgardh and Latehar. Now these 12 districts can benefit from the various programmes of Central and State Government under Natural Disaster Relief policies.
