In Assam, movement of trains between Guwahati and North Bengal have been affected following a 12-hour Rail Roko movement launched by All Bodo Student Union since this morning. The North East Frontier Railway has controlled or regulated as many as 16 trains running between lower Assam portion and the Bengal border following the Rail Roko movement. No untoward incident has been reported in view of the movement.The Bodo student body has given the call for the Rail Roko movement demanding creation of a separate Directorate for Bodo medium schools and provincialization of all Bodo-medium schools in four districts of the Bodoland Territorial Council. The students are also demanding to conduct a separate Teacher Eligibility Test for the Bodo-belt.
