In Assam, the 12-hour bandh called by the Bodoland People's Progressive Front in protest against the ongoing violence in Kokrajhar has affected normal life in the region. Educational institutions, banks, business establishment including shops and markets remain closed. Roads including the National Highway 31 wore a deserted look with vehicles remaining off the road. However, train services are not affected. The ongoing agitation has so far claimed five lives and injured over 12 in the last 48 hours.
