12 arrested over suspected terror plot in Britain

In Britain, twelve people have been arrested on suspicion of plotting a large-scale act of terrorism following raids across the country. In a statement, the West Midlands police force said, the men, aged between 17 and 28, were detained on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of an act of terrorism in the country. Assistant commissioner John Yates, the officer in charge of counter-terrorism policing said the operation was a large-scale, pre-planned and intelligence-led involving several forces. He said the arrested men were from London, Cardiff and Stoke-on-Trent, north of Birmingham.
