12, 000 people have die so far due to Swine flu: WHO

The World Health Organization, WHO, has cautioned that the H1N1 pandemic influenza is not yet over, and continuous monitoring of the evolution of the disease is needed in the coming months. According to latest WHO data, released yesterday, at least 12,299 people have so far died due to deadly H1N1 pandemic influenza. They include nearly 6,880 in America and 2,554 in Europe. The Western Pacific reported 1361 deaths, while 1165 people died in South-East Asia due to the deadly virus. East Mediterranean reported 708 and Africa 131 deaths .The UN body said its tally of global pandemic deaths is an under-representation of the actual numbers as many deaths are never reported.
