The 11th Dhaka International Film festival was inaugurated in the city last night by Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Addressing the inaugural session, Hasina said her government will soon formulate a National Film Policy to promote the development of the country’s film industry. A total of 190 films of 66 countries from across the world in different categories would be screened during the festival at National Museum and Public Library auditoriums in the capital during the nine day film festival. Indian films Angshumaner Chhobi by Atanu Ghosh and Madholal Keep Walking by Jai Tank are in the fray in the Asian Compettition Section while a tribute is being paid to Film maker Saeed Akthar Mirza with four of his films being screened at the festival.In addition to this several Indian films are also being screened in various sections of the Festival being organised with the theme "Better Films, Better Audience, Better Society".
