World Health Organization has said, 116 million children in 13 countries in west and central Africa are to receive polio vaccines as part of its efforts to eradicate the disease from the continent. The WHO said that the synchronised vaccination campaign programme will see all children under the age of 5 in these countries immunised from today in a coordinated effort to raise childhood immunity to polio.
