1100 ATMs shut down in B'lore for not following police norms

Karnataka Home Minister K J George has said that 1100 ATMs have been shut down in Bangalore for not following the norms prescribed by the police. Replying to a question asked by Suresh Kumar of BJP in legislative Assembly today, he said 45 days have been given to banks to comply with the security guidelines. He added that ATMs must have CCTVs, alarm system, security person and card swipe door locking system. The minister assured that shut down ATMs will be opened once guidelines are complied. The issue was raised in the House, as a woman bank manager was assaulted menacingly in an ATM kiosk on 19th this month in Bangalore.
