11 Turkish troops killed in deadliest day of Kurdish offensive

In Turkey, at least 11 soldiers were killed yesterday, when a helicopter was downed. Army said the helicopter was on a mission in the Afrin region as part of Ankara's offensive dubbed Operation Olive Branch. Turkey launched a military operation against the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) militia in the Afrin region, backing Syrian rebels with air strikes and ground troops.<br/><br/>Speaking in Istanbul, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said those responsible will pay for it. Mr Erdogan said the cause of the helicopter's crash is not yet clear and investigations are going on. However, a spokesman for the Kurdish militia said, his fighters downed the chopper in Raju, northwest Afrin.
