In a major breakthrough, the Assam Police have arrested eleven (11) top Manipur-based United National Liberation Front (UNLF) rebels from Guwahati city. Based on intelligence inputs, police carried out raids in their hideouts in Dispur, Mathgharia and Geetanagar localities of the city and arrested all of them. Senior Superintendent of the Guwahati Police said they were expected to be produced in court on Friday. Two gypsy vans, one satellite mobile sets, 20 mobiles, five laptops, five sophisticated cameras, about thirty thousand rupees in cash and some arms and ammunition were recovered from them.
